Greenhouse Grower magazine names the world's only black petunia as the Industry's Choice and Reader's Choice Award winner.
At this year’s OFA Short Course, Ball FloraPlant’s Black Velvet Petunia was announced as the winner of Greenhouse Grower’s Medal of Excellence Industry Choice Award during its Evening of Excellence reception, July 12. Soon after that announcement, Black Velvet was also chosen as the Medal of Excellence Reader’s Choice Award winner.
For more than 20 years, Greenhouse Grower has recognized outstanding contributions in advancing flower varieties through its Medal of Excellence awards program. The Industry’s Choice finalists are determined by the magazine’s expert panel; Editor’s Choice by Editor Delilah Onofrey; and Reader’s Choice is determined through online voting by Greenhouse Grower readers and OFA Short Course attendees.
